The selective surface (absorber plate) on SOLARTEK copper pipe solar collector is made of aluminium. By a special galvanic coating technique, a selective surface feature was added to the absorber plate which is 0.5 mm thick. The nickel pigmented aluminium oxide coating which is developed to protect its surface characteristics for years, is highly resistant against adverse atmospheric conditions. The water canals of Solartek are made of copper pipes. The attachments of horizontal collecting and diffuser pipes with vertical carrier pipes were made by copper welding; however no welding is used within the assembly of aluminium selective surface and cooper pipes at all. There canals installed to surround copper pipes on the surface and special clips were used for connections.

SOLARTEK which has both aluminium selective surface and copper pipes is a technological product that offers the advantageous aspects of these materials together. It is highly efficient thanks to its aluminium selective surface. And because of its copper pipes, it can easily be installed on all types of plumbing systems. When exposed to humidity, it is not adversely affected like copper surface collectors; it is much more long lasting.

Low ferrous glass which has a solar energy conductivity value of 90.7 % is used within the COPPER pipe collectors. When the corrective factors related to glass and the beam absorption values of absorbent plate are taken in to consideration, the optical efficiency value of COPPER pipe collector changes between 78.1 % and 81.5 %.
